Responsibilities

• Administer daily activities in an efficient, orderly manner.
• Maintain a structured study hall environment with consistency.
• Record tardies and noncompliance; notify administration as needed.
• Collaborate with staff to fulfill position functions.
• Perform administrative tasks related to these duties.

Job description

The Soulsville Charter School (TSCS) is seeking candidates for the role of Internal Substitute Teacher for both middle and high school grades. This role requires a person of efficiency, timeliness, organization and follow through.

The substitute teacher has the primary responsibility of executing the lesson and instructions detailed in classroom teachers’ sub coverage plans.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to:

1. Follow the explicit instructions of the daily sub coverage lesson plan.


2. Take and report accurate attendance for every class period ensuring the report is sent to the main office within the first 20 minutes of each class.


3. Ensure that the classroom space remains organized and as the teacher left it.


4. Administer daily lesson instructions and activities to the students in an efficient and orderly way.


5. Maintain a quiet, structured study hall environment with a high degree of discipline and consistency.


6. Uphold the TSCS Commitment to Excellence Agreement.


7. Record and track students who are tardy to class or noncompliant with the teacher’s instructions. Record this information in the sub folder; contact school administration for any immediate behavior issues.


8. Consult with other school staff as necessary to complete the functions of the position.


9. Complete assigned administrative tasks related to these functions.


10. Utilize proactive discipline methodology with assigned students.


11. Other reasonable duties as assigned by the Middle School Director, High School Director and other TSCS Management.
