Internal Medicine Residency Program Director

Mercy Medical Center | Aurora, Illinois

Mercy Medical Center is seeking a dynamic and committed Internal Medicine Residency Program Director to lead its ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program. This position offers a balanced role with approximately 50% protected administrative time dedicated to program leadership and 50% clinical practice, allowing the Program Director to remain actively engaged in patient care while shaping the future of graduate medical education.This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced physician educator to influence resident training within a diverse, urban healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Designated Institutional Official (DIO), the Program Director is responsible for the general administration, curriculum planning, recruitment, and teaching and supervision of the IM Residency Program (“IM Program or Program”). The Program Director establishes the strategic direction of the Program and is responsible for the standards, quality and reputation of such. The Program Director is expected to support integration of the IM Program with physician practices and hospital clinical services in a manner that enhances value and quality, and that promotes an optimal environment for professional practice and medical education.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
