  • Improve access and continuity for patients who require physician evaluation.
  • Create a clear path from initial evaluation and conservative care to advanced interventional treatment when clinically appropriate.
  • Retain appropriate care within the network while avoiding unnecessary outside referrals or delays.
  • Support sustainable market growth through stronger provider capacity, documentation, patient experience, and referral coordination.

  • Evaluate adults with chronic pain, acute pain, musculoskeletal complaints, and medical comorbidities that affect treatment planning.
  • Develop and manage evidence based, multimodal treatment plans, including medication management, rehabilitation, therapy, and other conservative care.
  • Coordinate with fellowship-trained interventional pain physicians at the practice and order interventional pain procedures, including epidural steroid injections (ESI), medial branch blocks (MBB), radiofrequency ablation (RFA), nerve blocks, and other injections, as appropriate based on the patient s condition and treatment plan.
  • Perform designated office based injections and ultrasound-guided procedures after structured training, documented competency validation, and approval through the practice s Medical Director.
  • Recognize patients who may benefit from advanced interventional pain procedures, including spinal cord stimulation (SCS), minimally invasive lumbar decompression (MILD), basivertebral nerve ablation (Intracept), kyphoplasty, and others, and coordinate timely referral to the appropriate interventional pain specialist.
