Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island in Garden City seeks a Medical Assistant - Internal Medicine to support physicians and nurses by performing patient care tasks with safety and compassion. You will help manage patient flow, obtain vital signs, and assist with procedures while maintaining clean exam areas and assisting with training of new staff.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or MA program, with MA experience or certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; MA program graduate or 2 years MA experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses in patient care tasks with safe, compassionate care.
• Maintain patient flow and escort patients between exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Obtain vital signs, weights, and EKGs; assist with phlebotomy as needed.
• Ensure exam and treatment areas are cleaned and prepared for the next patient; light housekeeping.
• Assist with training of new Medical Assistants and perform administrative responsibilities as needed.
