Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join an Internal Medicine team in Georgia. The role involves rooming patients, taking vitals, performing health maintenance tasks, and supporting providers with procedures as ordered.

You will perform lab duties, venipuncture, specimen handling, and assist with vaccinations while adhering to CLIA and safety standards. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for daily patient care.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or may have completed structured military training which is clinical in nature in lieu of a formal MA program.
Ability to perform routine and complex clinical skills with demonstrated competency.

Responsibilities

Room patients and record vitals, med reconciliation, health maintenance, and screenings.
Assist provider with procedures and venipuncture, specimen handling and lab requests.
Perform POCT and CLIA‑waived tests per standing orders.
Administer medications and vaccines following the rights of medication administration.
Maintain clean work environment and ensure supplies are stocked.
Communicate effectively with team and escalate issues when needed.
