The Chief Resident acts as a junior faculty leader, coordinating scheduling, educational activities, recruitment, and program operations while serving as a liaison among residents, faculty, hospital leadership, and the GME office.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completed an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency.
• Board eligibility or board certification in Internal Medicine (ABIM/AOBIM).
• Eligible for unrestricted MD licensure to practice in Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Lead residency program operations and schedule management.
• Coordinate resident schedules and ensure duty hour compliance.
• Provide teaching and supervision to residents and medical students.
• Participate in recruitment activities and program development.
• Represent the residency program to institutional leadership.
