Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Internal IT Engineer to manage user accounts, provisioning hardware, and assist employees with IT issues at our Melville, NY headquarters. The role is on-site with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST.

Salary ranges from $60,000 to $70,000 annually. Candidates should have strong technical support skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while working independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Provision and de-provision user accounts for employees
• Asset management of laptops, monitors, docking stations, webcams, headsets
• Check computer hardware and install/configure software per specs
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
• Provide orientation and guidance on software and equipment
• Organize diagnostic testing around employee availability
• Troubleshoot to diagnose and resolve problems
• Maintain records of support interactions in ConnectWise
• Document warranty issues and communicate with vendors

Responsibilities

• Manage user accounts and onboarding/offboarding processes
• Provision and track hardware inventory (laptops, monitors, docking stations, peripherals)
• Verify hardware functionality and install required software
• Maintain security and privacy across networks and devices
• Educate users on software and hardware usage
• Schedule diagnostics to minimize business impact
• Troubleshoot and repair or replace defective parts
• Log support interactions and time in ConnectWise
• Coordinate with vendors for outstanding support requests

Description

As an Internal IT Engineer, you will be responsible for user account and equipment provisioning as well as assisting employees with resolving their IT-related issues. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm EST onsite at our headquarters office in Melville, NY. The salary for this position is $60,000-$70,000.

Desired Skillset/ Experience

• Technical Support Experience: 2-5 Years (Preferred)
• Experience working with Azure (A plus)
• Experience working with Office 365 (Preferred)
• Experience working with SonicWall devices (Preferred)
• Experience working with HP Devices (Preferred)
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to Prioritize multiple tasks effectively
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Proven Experience as a?Technical?Support Analyst?or relevant position
• CompTIA A+ and Network+ will be required within 1 year of hire.

Microsoft, Apple, SonicWall, Cisco, and other IT vendor certifications desirable.

Requirements

• Organize and schedule diagnostic testing around employee availability to inhibit impact
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, etc.)
• Maintain records of support interactions and time spent in ConnectWise (communication, diagnostics tests / results)
• Identify and document computer or network equipment warranty issues and communicate them internally.
• Act as a liaison between vendors and employees for open vendor support requests
