Job summary

Protective is seeking a communications professional based in Birmingham, Alabama, working on internal and executive communications across intranet, newsletters, and digital channels. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather information, draft messages and manage calendars.

The position emphasizes strong writing, editing and project coordination, with a hybrid schedule (3/2) and opportunities to contribute to leadership communications, crisis response and business continuity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related field required.
• 1–3 years of experience in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or related experience preferred.
• Strong writing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit and publish content for intranet, newsletters, digital signage, employee emails and other internal channels.
• Maintain the enterprise editorial calendar and coordinate content inputs, reviews and publication.
• Support enterprise announcements, employee campaigns, leadership communications and All Company Town Hall content.
• Partner with teams to gather information and develop audience-focused communications.
• Draft supporting materials such as key messages, FAQs, leader notes, Indigo articles and presentations.
• Track content performance and support recurring communications reporting.
• Provide content and project support for executive, change, reputation, crisis and external communications as assigned.
• Contribute to team planning, cross-training and business continuity.
