Job summary

Latham & Watkins seeks an Internal Communications Senior Manager in New York to advise, lead, and mentor the Brand and Communications team. The role designs brand initiatives and strategic counsel on internal channels, with potential hybrid and in-office presence in the New York office.

The ideal candidate brings a decade of internal campaign experience within a law firm context, strong leadership, and excellent interpersonal skills to influence across levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with significant coursework in English or Creative Writing, Communications, or Marketing.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience developing internal campaigns for varied employee groups or clients.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of cumulative experience.
• Background knowledge and experience in the law, preferably.
• Experience managing and developing direct reports, preferably.

Responsibilities

• Engage with creative and video teams to integrate multimedia elements into communications.
• Develop and execute internal communications programs to raise awareness of firm initiatives.
• Provide strategy counseling, editorial calendars, product/service launches, and campaigns.
• Lead and mentor a team, overseeing strategy development, hiring, training, and evaluation.
• Review data to measure effectiveness, impact, and engagement of communications programs.
• Collaborate on large AI initiatives and promote AI-enabled tools across practice groups.
• Protect highly sensitive and proprietary information handled by the firm.

About the Role

The Internal Communications Senior Manager is an integral part of Latham’s Brand and Communications team. This role will be responsible for acting as a strategic advisor, manager, and mentor, while designing and leading brand initiatives, including providing expert, strategic counsel regarding current internal communication channels and recommending new ones. This role will be located in our New York office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

• Engaging with creative and video teams to create compelling visual and multimedia elements into communications
• Developing and executing internal communications programs to enhance the reputation and awareness of firm programs across all internal channels
• Providing creative thinking and strategy consulting, including comprehensive editorial calendars, internal product/service launches, awareness campaigns, issues promotion, and special projects
• Developing and supervising their team by performing a multitude of responsibilities, including but not limited to strategy development, hiring, mentoring, assignment, training, and evaluation
• Reviewing and analyzing data to measure effectiveness, impact, and engagement of communications programs and special projects
• Work across large scale AI initiatives, champion AI-enabled tools and workflows across practice groups, partner with AI and Technology teams as needed
• Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

Pay Range

USD $195,000.00 - USD $225,000.00 /Yr.
