Qualifications

Job description

An Internal Communications Manager position is available at Garney. The Internal Communications Manager is responsible for leading Garney's internal communications strategy and overseeing initiatives that inform, engage, and connect employees across the organization. This position manages communications across a variety of internal channels, partnering with leadership and teams throughout the company to deliver clear, timely, and relevant messaging that strengthens organizational alignment, supports company priorities, and reinforces Garney's culture of employee ownership.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Develop and execute internal communications strategies that support Garney's business priorities, organizational goals, and employee engagement efforts
• Oversee internal communication channels, including GarneyOne, ensuring employees receive timely, relevant, and engaging information
• Create communication plans for company initiatives, organizational changes, leadership announcements, and other key business updates
• Partner with leaders and departments across the organization to provide communication guidance, messaging support, and strategic counsel
• Lead executive communication efforts that enhance leadership visibility, increase transparency, and strengthen organizational alignment
• Develop and implement communications that reinforce Garney's culture, values, employee ownership mindset, and connection across teams
• Collaborate with marketing, creative, and external communications teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment
• Measure communication effectiveness through analytics and employee feedback, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
• Manage and mentor internal communications team members while ensuring high-quality, impactful communications across the organization

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in communications, internal communications, or a related field
• Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and communication skills
• Experience developing and executing strategic communications plans
• Knowledge of internal communications, employee engagement, and organizational change best practices
• Experience managing internal communications programs, company intranets, and communication channels
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate with executive leadership and employees across the organization
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Experience leading, managing, and developing team members
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and internal communications platforms
• Experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry
• Experience using analytics and employee feedback to measure communication effectiveness and drive improvements
