Job summary

Gordon Food Service is offering a 12-week paid internship in the Internal Audit / Tax department at the Home Office. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to how we calculate, file, and reconcile US and Canada taxes while contributing to risk assessment and process improvements.

You will work alongside mentors and peers, receive professional development and networking opportunities, and build practical skills through real projects across North America.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
• Authorized to work in the US.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Administering, calculating, and remitting US and Canada income and indirect taxes, including filing returns and related forms.
• Performing risk mitigation, process improvement, assurance consulting, and internal controls testing.

Build Connections By

Working alongside our Internal Audit / Tax team that serves our customers, employees, and partners across North America and Canada. Collaborating with other Gordon Food Service interns and employees in the following areas:

• Communications
• Finance
• Accounting
• Human Resources
• IT
• Marketing & Merchandising
• Supply Chain
• Sales

Build a Career In the Internal Audit / Tax department by:

• Administering, calculating, and remitting all income and indirect taxes for the US and Canada including filing all income and indirect tax returns and related forms, preparing related journal entries and account reconciliations, and resolving issues or answering questions with auditors, external customers, and stakeholders across GFS.
• Performing risk mitigation, process improvement, assurance consulting, and internal controls testing for all North American operations within GFS with a focus on operations.
