Job summary

Louisiana Office of State Parks seeks an Auditor 1-4 to support the executive team in internal audit duties at the Baton Rouge headquarters. You will conduct independent reviews of policy, risk management, internal controls, and fiscal operations, coordinating with CRT auditors to build a robust internal audit program.

The role involves planning audits, reporting findings, and developing corrective action plans with auditees.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in accounting or auditing.
• Six years of full-time experience in any field plus 24 semester hours in accounting/auditing/related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree with 24 semester hours in accounting, auditing, finance, management, economics, quantitative methods, or information systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, qualitative methods, or statistics.
• Bachelor’s degree plus a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP).
• Advanced degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and conducts internal audits of the activities of the Office of State Parks.
• Coordinates meetings with management and staff during audits and prepares audit plans and working papers.
• Assists in determining if programs are effective, compliant, and properly controlled; ensures cash management and financial operations are sound.
• Completes special projects requiring in-depth research for state and federal programs.
