Job summary

The State of Louisiana is seeking a Revenue Tax Auditor to join the Field Audit Income Tax Division. You will perform in-state and out-of-state audits of complex businesses to ensure compliance with Louisiana tax laws and accurate tax collection.

You will coordinate audits across several tax types and travel as needed to examine financial statements and records to determine correct tax liabilities. This role offers entry-level to senior levels depending on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing or an equivalent combination of education and experience as listed.
• Solid knowledge of Louisiana tax laws, regulations, and policies.
• CPA license or Louisiana law license is acceptable for consideration.
• Experience substitution: 30 semester hours equals one year toward the six years' requirement.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-state and out-of-state field audits of complex businesses and corporations.
• Coordinate tax audits across multiple tax types (e.g., Corporation Income, Franchise, Personal Income, Sales/Use, etc.).
• Conduct examinations of financial statements, accounting records, and tax reports to determine tax liability.
• Travel to out-of-state metropolitan areas for examinations as needed.
