Internal Audit Manager

The Steamship Authority is currently seeking to fill the position of Internal Audit Manager at the Steamship Authority's Falmouth administrative Office location. This is a full-time, non-union position working Monday through Friday. The position function is to plan, direct and control the staff responsible for the internal auditing and provide an appraisal of the operation and controls within the Authority to determine whether risk is identified and reduced and that approved policies and procedures are followed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the activities of internal audit staff.
• Responsible for the development of audit plan based on significant exposures to loss or failure.
• Responsible for systematically sampling the adequacy and reliability of the internal control system and make recommendations for changes as needed.
• Ensures that company policies and procedures are followed.
• May perform all functions of the Auditor position.
• Develop special cost studies and reports.
• Responsible for the timely reporting to management of significant findings.
• Provide functional direction to subordinates regarding SQMS disciplines.
• Performs other special projects and accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Technical competence in the position functions as developed by college education, at least through Bachelor’s degree level, and a minimum of three years’ experience in the various disciplines.
• In-depth knowledge of the internal audit process and responsibilities.
• The ability to deal effectively with a diverse group of employees as evidenced by successful supervisory experience.
• The ability to communicate with and perform the department responsibilities as they relate to other levels of management within the Steamship Authority.
• Working knowledge of spreadsheet programs for personal computers.

Salary

The salary range for this position is $89,700 - $115,650.
