Job summary

10x Genomics is seeking an experienced Head of Internal Audit to own the SOX program and the internal audit mandate. You will partner with process teams to design and implement controls, ensuring SOX compliance by design as the company rebuilds accounting workflows around AI.

You will also lead the core internal audit function, reporting to the Audit Committee and CFO, driving risk management and governance across a fast-growing global company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; 10+ years in internal or external audit or risk advisory, including Big 4; 3+ years leading audit or SOX functions at a public company.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) required.
• Expert in SOX 404, COSO, PCAOB, and SEC requirements; strong US GAAP knowledge in high-risk areas for a product company.
• AI-first mindset with history of automation and analytics in a SOX program; familiarity with ITGCs, ERP and cloud environments.
• Independent judgment and ability to communicate with Audit Committee and executives.

Responsibilities

• Set the audit strategy and risk-based plan across financial, operational, technology, and compliance domains.
• Lead the SOX 404 lifecycle from scoping to remediation and drive continuous monitoring.
• Audit automated controls and AI-enabled workflows; ensure evidence and trails are robust.
• Advise business units early in system design to embed controls.
• Build a lean AI-first audit function with measurable coverage and efficiency gains.
