Job summary

10x Genomics Inc. is seeking an Internal Audit leader to own the SOX program and internal audit mandate. You will partner with business process teams to design robust controls and ensure SOX compliance by design as workflows are rebuilt around AI.

You will lead the core internal audit mandate, testing controls, and embedding risk management across the company. You will build an AI-first audit function, collaborate with the CFO and Audit Committee, and drive efficiency, governance, and integrity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; 10+ years in internal audit, external audit, or risk advisory, including Big 4 and 3+ years leading audit or SOX functions at a public company with reporting to the Audit Committee.
• Expert in SOX 404, COSO, PCAOB, and SEC requirements, with working knowledge of revenue recognition, inventory, and equity compensation.
• AI-first approach with automation and analytics in a SOX program, hands-on ability to build with AI tools.
• High agency and builder mindset with bias for action; ability to question requirements and simplify before automation.
• Judgment and executive presence; able to explain controls to engineers and Audit Committee members.

Responsibilities

• Set the audit strategy and plan: own the internal audit charter, risk assessment, and risk-based plan; report findings to the Audit Committee.
• Run a SOX program built for automation: manage the 404 lifecycle from scoping to remediation and external audit reliance.
• Assure automated controls: develop methodology to audit AI-enabled workflows and ITGCs around Oracle, RevPro, Snowflake, and AI tooling.
• Advise the business independently: partner with Finance, IT, Legal, and Operations on systems design and process changes.
• Build an AI-first audit function: establish lean team, GitHub tests, analytics, and measure coverage gains.
