Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking an Internal Agency MRI Technologist to support MRI coverage across the system. The role requires versatility to operate MRI locations with safety as a priority and to contribute to high-quality imaging and patient care.

The technologist will interview and screen patients, administer contrast as needed, and participate in didactic training of radiology students, ensuring exams meet diagnostic standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ARRT accredited program in Radiologic Technology or ARRT MR certification.
• 2+ years experience as MR technologist preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills; good communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanners per safety guidelines and protocol.
• Maintain high quality imaging and patient welfare.

Competency requires versatility to cover any need throughout system Radiology MRI departments. Performs MRI procedures consistent with the established standard of medical care in radiology, maintaining high quality imaging and patient welfare as a top priority. Supports didactic training of radiology students through demonstration and constructive guidance. Operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner(s) within all guidelines of MRI safety. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of MRI safety zones and practices all safety guidelines. Interview/screen patient for appropriateness of exam and patient history and documents such accurately. Explain MRI procedures to patient/family for ultimate success of exam. Administer appropriate contrast media intravenously and accurately evaluate images to ensure quality and diagnostic status of exam.Education: Required: Graduate of ARRT accredited program in Radiologic Technology OR Graduate of ARRT accredited program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (primary pathway) with ARRT-MR certification Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Radiology Certification in ARRT MRExperience: Preferred: 2 years experience as a Registered Technologist in MRISkills: Strong analytical/problem solving skills. Knowledge of current MR technical information. Proficient in using computers and computer systems. Excellent time management, interpersonal, presentation, organization, prioritizing, decision-making, and planning skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
