South Dakota State Government, Department of Game, Fish & Parks, offers a Summer Wildlife Damage Intern position in Sioux Falls. Interns will assist in wildlife damage management, learn exclusion fencing for geese, turkeys, and deer, and gain experience in hazing, trapping for nuisance animals, and banding migratory birds.
They will also learn to operate and maintain equipment and vehicles and perform record keeping and data entry.

Intern will perform wildlife damage management techniques to assist the Regional Wildlife Damage Specialists in southeastern South Dakota. Internships will provide experience on methods of exclusion fences for Canada Geese, Turkey's, and deer. Intern will also learn a variety of hazing practices, some trapping for nuisance animals and Beavers, banding migratory game birds, and other management assignments regarding Wildlife Damage. They will also learn how to operate and maintain a variety of equipment and vehicles such as pick-up trucks, tractors, UTV's, kayaks, and boats with motors. Record keeping and data entry will be another area of skill development.
