Job summary

Halff is seeking a Water/Wastewater Intern to join our Civil Engineering team in Richardson, TX. You will assist with drainage and stormwater analysis and design, and support Water & Wastewater Utility projects, including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process, design, and construction.

This internship runs June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027 and pays hourly for a 40-hour work week. You'll perform water resources design, assist in hydrology and hydraulic modeling, and help prepare plans,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent.
• Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is required.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Solid relationship and teamwork abilities are important.
• Self-motivated with good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist in drainage and stormwater analysis and design.
• Support Water & Wastewater Utility projects including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process, design, and construction.
• Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water Resources projects.
• Perform drafting CAD work.
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.

Water/Wastewater Intern

Halff is actively seeking an Intern for our Water/Wastewater team. The Civil Engineering Intern will help with drainage and stormwater analysis and design and support Water & Wastewater Utility projects, including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process, design, and construction. The Intern will help perform water resources design, support projects in water resources planning, hydrology and hydraulic modeling, and other engineering tasks as needed. The Internship will begin on June 7th, 2027, and conclude on August 13th, 2027.

Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday through Friday.

Halff does not pay for or provide housing for Internships.

What You Will Do
