Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Intern to support drainage and stormwater analysis, and Water & Wastewater Utility projects in Fort Worth, TX. The internship runs June 7, 2027 through August 13, 2027 and is a paid hourly, full-time position.

You will work under a Professional Engineer, design civil projects, perform CAD drafting, and assist with permit applications while collaborating with surveyors, architects, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent degree.
• Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS required.
• Great communication skills.
• Solid relationship and team building skills.
• Self-motivated and strong organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Help design drainage and stormwater analysis and design.
• Support Water & Wastewater Utility projects including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process, design, and construction.
• Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water Resources projects.
• Perform drafting CAD work.
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.

Job description

Water/Wastewater Intern

Halff is actively seeking an Intern for our Water/Wastewater team. The Civil Engineering Intern will help with drainage and stormwater analysis and design and support Water & Wastewater Utility projects, including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process, design, and construction. The Intern will help perform water resources design, support projects in water resources planning, hydrology and hydraulic modeling, and other engineering tasks as needed. The Internship will begin on June 7th, 2027, and conclude on August 13th, 2027.

Internships are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday through Friday.

Halff does not pay for or provide housing for Internships.
