The role involves assisting in master drainage planning, preparing technical documents, and collaborating across teams to deliver maintainable, sustainable solutions for municipalities, agencies and developers.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years in water resources/public works with project experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Civil/Environmental Engineering (ABET accredited).
• Must have passed FE or plan to obtain Texas EIT before start date.
• Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS Pro.
• Familiarity with XP-SWMM and InfoWorks ICM.
• Strong written and verbal communication; team-focused.

Graduate Engineer I, Water Resources

Halff has an immediate opening for a Graduate Engineer I, Water Resources to join our Water Resources team in Austin, TX. The candidate must be able to successfully work on projects and work closely with our internal and external clients, perform flood risk education and planning, flood infrastructure planning, and design for private and public stormwater infrastructure. Halff is seeking a skilled professional to work in a highly collaborative environment to create cost‑effective, maintainable, and sustainable solutions for municipalities, governmental agencies and developers.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams in the design and analysis of water resources design projects.
• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis.
• Assist in the development of master drainage plans.
• Prepare and review engineering documents and reports.
• Prepare and review plans, specification and bid documents.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years in water resources/public works. Resume projects should demonstrate experience in channels design, storm drain analysis and design, watershed modeling, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and master drainage planning.
• New grads are encouraged to apply. Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
• Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or plan on obtaining before start date, with a goal of obtaining Texas EIT license.
• Experience with HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, ArcGIS Pro.
• Familiarity with XP‑SWMM, InfoWorks ICM.
• Robust written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive attitude, self‑directed yet a team player, with a focus on quality, integrity and success.
• Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
