Job summary

Zurn Elkay Water Solutions Corporation in Downers Grove welcomes a UI/UX Design intern to collaborate with our developer/designer and marketing teams. You’ll help create wireframes, design new web templates using our UI/UX tools, build web forms, and craft pages in our Content Management System.

As an intern, you’ll learn UI/UX best practices, contribute to landing pages across multiple brand sites, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, inclusive environment where careers grow.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Computer Science, HCI or related field.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills, detail oriented, and able to work in a fast, agile environment.
• Passion for usability and attractive UI.
• Interest in latest digital trends and web technologies.
• Nice to have experience with Figma, Adobe XD or AEM.
• Understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to wireframes, flows, prototyping, and content authoring from inception to launch.

Job Description

The UI/UX Designer intern will work closely with our developer/designer team and our marketing team to ensure seamless web/mobile design and the successful implementation of UI/UX best practices and principles across all our digital platforms. This includes helping out with creating wireframes, designing new web templates using our UI/UX design tool, building web forms, and creating pages in our Content Management System.

Key Accountabilities

• Contribute to projects from their inception to launch (will include research, flows, wireframing, prototyping, content authoring & more)
• Collaborate with marketing and designer teams on product requirements and focus on the user experience, ease-of-use, performance, and efficiency of websites
• Work independently and in collaboration with other designers and the marketing team to quickly produce multiple concepts and prototypes
• Work with web developers to ensure the technical feasibility of designs and guide the interface through the development process
• Design UI elements such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and page designs for our websites
• Author content for landing pages across multiple brand sites.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major or minor in UX Design, Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, or other related disciplines.
• Has great problem solving and communication skills, is detail oriented and is comfortable working in a fast, agile environment
• Has a passion for usability and effective, attractive UI
• Should be Interested in latest digital trends & web technologies
• Nice to have previous experience or working knowledge of Figma, Adobe XD, or Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
• Has an understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
