Job summary

The State of South Dakota, Department of Transportation, is offering a Summer Intern - Transportation Engineering Intern position in Rapid City. Four positions are available for motivated students to gain hands-on experience on highway construction projects.

Applicants must be current part-time or full-time students; juniors or seniors from SD institutions are preferred, with at least 6 credits in the upcoming semester.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.

• Coordinate with contractors to conduct materials testing and inspections on state highway construction projects.
• Work with project engineers and technicians to measure work for construction payments.

Minimum Salary: $22.74 (Non-Engineer Students) and $25.08 (Engineer Students)

• APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER.
