Job summary

Halff is seeking a Transportation Intern for our Oklahoma City, OK office to support the Transportation team. You will assist with transportation design on TxDOT, city, and county projects, help prepare plans and cost estimates, and contribute to CAD work under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.

The internship runs from June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027, with an hourly pay structure and full-time hours (40 hours/week), typically 8a–5p, Monday through Friday. Housing is not provided.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and relationship-building abilities.
• Self-motivated with solid organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing civil engineering transportation projects under supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Prepare plans, specifications and cost estimates for Transportation projects.
• Assist with drafting CAD work.
• Perform calculations and analyses for design projects.
• Help prepare permit applications and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with surveyors, architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.

Transportation Intern

Halff is actively seeking an Intern for our Transportation team in our Oklahoma City, OK office. The Civil Engineering Intern will be helping perform Transportation design, including TxDOT, city, and county roadway and highway design projects. This Civil Engineering Intern will assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Transportation projects as well as helping with CAD work. The Internship will begin on June 7th, 2027, and conclude on August 13th, 2027.

Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday through Friday.

Halff does not pay for or provide housing for Internships.

What You Will Do

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Transportation projects
• Assist with drafting CAD work
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
• Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
