Job summary

Halff is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Transportation team in Tallahassee, FL. You will assist in transportation design, including FDOT and local projects, and help prepare plans, specs, and cost estimates while supporting CAD work.

This internship provides exposure to multi-disciplinary transportation projects and collaboration with engineers, surveyors, and contractors. It is a full-time, hourly-paid internship with client and regulatory meeting involvement.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering or ABET-equivalent degree.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong relationship and team-building abilities.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under supervision of a Professional Engineer.

Job description

Halff is actively seeking an Intern for our Transportation team in our Tallahassee, FL office. The Civil Engineering Intern will be helping perform Transportation design, including FDOT, city, and county roadway and highway design projects. This Civil Engineering Intern will assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Transportation projects as well as helping with CAD work.

What You Will Do

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Transportation projects
• Assist with drafting CAD work
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
• Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies

What You Will Need

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree
• Great communication skills
• Solid relationship and team building skills
• Self-motivated and strong organization skills

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
