Job summary

Halff is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join the Transportation team in Little Rock, AR. The intern will assist in transportation design, prepare plans and cost estimates, and support CAD drafting under supervision.

Responsibilities include coordinating with team members, attending client and regulatory meetings, and contributing to permit applications. The internship runs from June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027 and pays hourly for a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited preferred).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Self-motivated with good organization and planning abilities.

Job description

Halff is actively seeking an Intern for our Transportation team in our Little Rock, AR office. The Civil Engineering Intern will be helping perform Transportation design, including TxDOT, city, and county roadway and highway design projects. This Civil Engineering Intern will assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Transportation projects as well as helping with CAD work. The Internship will begin on June 7th, 2027, and conclude on August 13th, 2027.

Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday through Friday.

Halff does not pay for or provide housing for Internships.

What You Will Do

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Transportation projects
• Assist with drafting CAD work
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
