Job summary

Itron is seeking a student intern to assist software engineers with application development and enhancements at our West Union, SC site. You will write, review, and debug code while learning new skills through project work, collaborating with teams and stakeholders under supervision.

The role emphasizes independent time management, strong problem-solving, and professional communication, with opportunities to contribute to real-world energy/utility software projects during the spring term 2027.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a related degree program (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related preferred).
• Intermediate programming abilities in object oriented languages such as C#, Java, Python.
• Knowledge of SQL databases.
• Experience with Git or related version control system.
• Ability to work well independently and with coworkers to share knowledge as part of a team.
• Experience managing time independently and prioritizing tasks.
• Strong problem-solving ability with the desire to take ownership of challenges and follow through to resolution.
• Open to feedback and coaching to improve skills.
• Professional oral and written communication skills.

Duration
