Job summary

Itron, Inc. is seeking a part-time software development intern for the spring term 2027 to assist senior engineers and participate in application development activities.

The role requires enrollment in a related degree program and familiarity with C#, Java, Python, SQL, and Git. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and time-management skills and be comfortable working both independently and within a team.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a related degree program (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related preferred).
• Intermediate programming abilities in object oriented languages such as C#, Java, Python.
• Knowledge of SQL databases.
• Experience with Git or related version control system.
• Ability to work well independently and with coworkers to share knowledge as part of a team.
• Experience managing time independently and prioritizing tasks.
• Strong problem-solving ability with the desire to take ownership of challenges and follow through to resolution.
• Open to feedback and coaching to improve skills.
• Professional oral and written communication skills.

Must be available ~25 hours/wk and have the ability to work onsite at Itron's West Union location spring term 2027.
