The Day to Day:
In the Civil Engineering Intern role, you will support the Plant Engineering and Facilities team by updating critical facility drawings and organizing compliance documentation. This internship will provide hands-on experience with AutoCAD, document control, facility planning, and regulatory audit preparation in a manufacturing environment.
- Update shell drawings for core facility buildings using AutoCAD.
- Review and revise building egress plans to reflect current facility layouts.
- Update underground utility drawings for future planning, research, and compliance activities.
- Organize engineering drawings, records, and technical documents for efficient retrieval.
- Assist with developing and maintaining a structured compliance filing system.
- Compile documentation related to fire-suppression systems, fuel-island testing, pressure-vessel testing, and other facility compliance requirements.
- Help ensure information is accurate, current, and readily available for audits involving Plant Engineering.
- Collaborate with Plant Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, and other stakeholders to confirm drawing and documentation requirements.
- Complete additional facility-engineering and document-control projects based on business needs.

Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Interest in facility engineering, building systems, infrastructure, and manufacturing operations.
- Coursework or experience using AutoCAD or similar computer-aided design software.
- Ability to read, interpret, and update technical drawings and plans.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and document-management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
