Job summary

Lennar is seeking an Intern - Security Engineer for its Future Builders Program in Texas. This 10-week summer internship will start in June 2027 and provide hands-on experience with security technologies, cloud security, threat detection, and incident response under experienced mentors.

Participants will develop technical and communication skills while collaborating with IT teams on real projects. Eligible applicants are currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree and authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree with an expected graduation between 2027 and 2029.
• Basic understanding of network security, cloud security and cybersecurity threats.
• Familiarity with security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and maintaining security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection).
• Support cloud security initiatives by configuring and monitoring cloud environments.
• Participate in security monitoring, log analysis, and incident response activities.
• Perform basic vulnerability assessments and assist remediation.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configurations and document processes.

Job Responsibilities

• Intern - Security Engineer
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection solutions
• Support cloud security initiatives by assisting in the configuration and monitoring of cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Participate in security monitoring and incident response activities, including log analysis and threat detection
• Perform basic vulnerability assessments and assist in remediation efforts
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configuration of systems and applications
• Document security processes and procedures, contributing to the organization's knowledge base

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029. Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar field
• Basic understanding of network security principles, cloud security, and common cybersecurity threats
• Familiarity with security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM solutions
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Curious, proactive, and comfortable asking questions to learn and grow
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to engage in real business discussions
