New York Air Brake's Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC invites motivated Industrial/Mechanical Engineering students for a summer internship in Jacksonville. You’ll work on manufacturing improvements, participate in project teams, and gain hands-on experience with process optimization and quality initiatives.

  • Degree: Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology with a 3.0 or higher GPA
  • Minimum Year: Entering Junior year
  • Internship runs mid May to mid August; 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate product improvement or cost optimization projects by conducting trials, including development of trial plans and authoring trial reports
  • Assist with machine shutdowns and start-ups
  • Monitor, assess, analyze, and optimize process quality and conditions
  • Monitor, assess, and analyze process variability
  • Reduce environmental impact
  • Provide technical support for key departments
  • Utilize problem-solving and analytical skills to achieve department initiatives
  • Provide process engineering support to increase manufacturing capacity, improve safety/quality, and reduce manufacturing costs
  • Leverage process engineering capability to support production process continuous improvement using operational excellence tools
  • Support capital project work from scoping through installation under technical supervision
  • Assist in the design and technical supervision of plant studies and contribute to the design of the final project installation

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Education:

Our interns begin work as early as mid May and work up until the middle of August. Expect 40 hours per week. You will participate in special events, & and outings. There is something for everyone as a summer intern at New York Air Brake!
