Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Molecular-Micro Infectious Disease Intern to join our Research & Development Team located in Burlington, NC. This 11-week, paid internship offers hands-on projects and exposure to Labcorp’s global business, culture, and leadership.

Eligibility: rising juniors/seniors in relevant degree programs; preferred 6–12 months lab experience and familiarity with literature/databases. Compensation includes relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or Biotechnology.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical and non-technical protocols in an entry level capacity according to established procedures.
• Gains knowledge of department specific procedures and operations and work in cross functional teams.
• Generate reliable and consistent results, including analyses, and maintain an accurate and comprehensible experimental notebook.
• Operates general lab equipment and instruments in order to perform assigned duties.
• Maintains adequate stock of working supplies, notifies supervisor of shortage.
• Perform minor instrument troubleshooting and report any irregularities in operation to supervisor
• Adheres to lab policies and protocols, safety policies and protocols, and quality control policies and protocols.

Work Schedule

Days/ Hours: Monday-Friday / 40hrs per week

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• 6-12 months experience in a clinical lab, or relevant lab experience
• 6-12 months experience using literature/search engines/databases for research

Internship Details

• Duration: 11 weeks, full-time
• Dates of Internship: June 1, 2027-August 13, 2027
• Compensation: Paid internship; relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
• Eligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2027 through June 2029 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
