Job summary

Labcorp offers a Laboratory Intern position in the Microbiology Team based in Indianapolis, IN. The role provides hands-on testing experience and exposure to Labcorp's global operations. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, 40 hours per week, during a 11-week internship in 2027.

Responsibilities include performing tests, maintaining records, and contributing to SOPs and QC activities under supervision. Current Biology or Microbiology students are encouraged to apply and participate in this paid

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a scientific Bachelor’s degree program in Biology or Microbiology.
• Interest in biology, microbiology or related lab sciences.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and willingness to follow laboratory procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing on patient specimens in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
• Analyze test results and generate accurate and reliable results within quality control requirements.
• Maintain testing records, documentation, and laboratory data in accordance with regulatory and departmental requirements.
• Perform duties in compliance with SOPs, laboratory policies, and quality guidelines.
• Participate in research and development activities as assigned.
• Assist with development, evaluation, and modification of laboratory procedures and processes.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to operational excellence within the laboratory.
• Collaborate with laboratory personnel to ensure timely and accurate completion of testing activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by laboratory management or the Laboratory Director.

Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Intern to join our Microbiology Team located in Indianapolis, IN!

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm / 40hrs per week

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a scientific Bachelor’s degree program in Biology or Microbiology

About The Team

The Microbiology department at Labcorp Biopharma Lab Services provides a range of clinical trial services for clients including providing data in different formats. They are a team of 30 members working in different positions ranging from lab assistants to Medical technologists; Scientists and different levels of management.

Internship Details

• Duration: 11 weeks, full-time
• Dates of Internship: June 1, 2027-August 13, 2027
• Compensation: Paid internship; relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
• Eligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2027 through June 2029 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply.
• This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
