Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our Engineering Team in Bloomfield, CT. This 12-week paid internship offers hands-on work on robotic hardware and exposure to Labcorp's global engineering culture.

Qualified candidates are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with 3–6 months CAD and electro-mechanical experience. On-site, full-time internship with relocation assistance available for select candidates.

• 3–6 months experience using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
• 3–6 months experience with electro-mechanical components.
• 3–6 months ability to produce basic CAD drawings, blueprints and schematics.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40hrs per week

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist engineers in designing and developing hardware for complex robotic systems
• Perform testing or assembly or troubleshooting or debugging of either mechanical or electro-mechanical prototypes or software and provide feedback to the appropriate team

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-6 months experience using solid-modeling CAD software (SolidWorks)
• 3-6 months experience and knowledge of electro-mechanical components
• 3-6 months ability to produce basic CAD drawings, blueprints and schematics

Additional Job Standards:

• Strong analytical ability capable of understanding complex systems with multiple variables
• Candidate must be a good team player and possess good organizational skills
• Must be able to clearly communicate technical ideas, both orally and in writing, to internal and external customers
• Experience with 3D printing is a plus
• Must have a desire to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment
• Desire to take personal ownership of assigned tasks while working within a team on large projects

Internship Details:

Duration: 12 weeks, full-time Dates of Internship: May 24, 2027-August 13, 2027 Compensation: Paid internship; relocation assistance available for qualified candidates Eligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2027 through June 2029 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
