Job summary

Rogers Athletic, Co. in Clare, Michigan is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer internship for the summer of 2027. This on-site opportunity offers hands-on experience in Manufacturing Technology and Electrical Engineering as part of the Rogers Group family.

You will work with manufacturing, drafting, and design teams to improve product efficiency, assist wiring and assembly tasks, and gain insight into how operations collaborate with other departments while delivering results on multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Two years of college experience in a mechanical or manufacturing engineering field.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Gain understanding of current engineering systems and processes to help improve the process.
• Work with Manufacturing, Drafting, and Design teams to improve product efficiency, production specifications, product flow, and assembly.
• Perform hands-on activities such as wiring, assembling, and operating equipment.
• Develop understanding of manufacturing operations and cross-department collaboration.
• Perform other related duties as requested.
• Deliver results with accuracy on multiple projects.
• Provide solutions and efficiencies for real-world manufacturing problems.

Summary:

The purpose of the internship is to gain applicable engineering career experience in a growing organization. Throughout the internship, you will gain valuable, hands‑on experience in several aspects of Manufacturing Technology and Electrical Engineering.

What you need:

• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
• Student involvement and/or work experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Can effectively handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic, attention to detail and superior problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline at a recognized college or university. Two years of college experience in a mechanical or manufacturing engineering field.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret the English language.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must possess basic math skills. Experience with programming logic, and robotics preferred.

REASONING ABILITY: Experience in developing strong work ethic with coursework, professional networks, or internships, flexibility, and fluidity to thrive within a rapidly evolving environment, demonstrate project management capabilities, and strong attention to detail.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Must be proficient with MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook. Experience in Autodesk Inventor preferred.

This internship is located on-site in Clare, Michigan.
