Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in IT or CS with at least junior standing.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA and ITIL Foundation preferred.
• Experience with hardware maintenance and ServiceNow is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the link between business applications and users from a technical perspective.
• Assist with incidents and requests following ITIL foundational principles.
• Interact directly with internal customers.
• Develop training materials for process changes and new technology introductions.
• Provide premier IT-related support to team members.
• Follow established safety and environmental policies and procedures.

General Description

The IT Intern will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the end users and workstation environment at the CSS San Diego facility. The IT Intern will provide best in class customer service in carrying out their duties. The role provides installation, maintenance, and general support of hardware and software and supports end users with advanced questions or problems by identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems. The IT Intern will help support a variety of IT processes and manufacturing applications, which are critical to day-to-day business operations. The internship is designed to be a full-time on-site position for the 2026 summer semester. The start and end date for the internship is flexible. This position is for Parker Hannifin’s Composite Sealing Systems Division, located in San Diego (Otay Mesa), California. The standard work hours are from Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Essential Job Functions

• Function as the link between business applications and users from a technical and process perspective.
• Support the resolution of critical situation technical problems.
• Manage incidents and requests in coordination with global IT service desk, utilizing ITIL foundational principles.
• Facilitate direct interaction with internal customers.
• Drive results and proactively identify and resolve problems.
• Develop training materials to support process changes and new technology introductions.
• Provide premier customer service by promptly and professionally assisting team members with IT-related inquiries and issues.
• Follow established safety and environmental policies, procedures, and methods applicable to the work area.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications

Education:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field
• Incoming Junior or Senior Standing
• Minimum of 3.0 GPA
• ITIL Foundation, preferred
• Microsoft Certified Professional, preferred
• CompTIA Certified, preferred

Experience

• Manufacturing experience, preferred
• 1 year of experience with maintenance and repair of computer hardware, preferred
• IT Service Management ticketing tool such as ServiceNow, preferred

Salary Information

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $17.25 - $22.00 per hour.
