Job summary

BMW Group in Santa Monica is seeking an Intern in Interaction Design for Spring 2027. The role supports the Interaction Design team across BMW brands and external clients, engaging in research, prototyping, and proposal creation, with exposure to AR/VR and new interaction methods.

Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program, have US work authorization, a 3.0 GPA, and 60 credits completed. The position is hybrid with four days in-office and one remote day in Santa Monica, CA.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program
• US Work Authorization required
• Minimum GPA 3.0 (overall)
• Completed at least 60 college credits
• Ability to work full-time (20–29 hours/week)
• Unofficial transcript must be submitted with application

Responsibilities

• Assist the Interaction Design team and contribute as a content-creating project member.
• Work on projects spanning automotive, consumer products, and infrastructure.
• Participate in investigations across desktop, apps, AR/VR, haptics, gesture, and phygital.
• Support contextual research for client projects.
• Assist in creating design proposals for client projects.
• Contribute to development of new tools within the team.
• Support the LA studio with internal initiatives.
