Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a motivated student for its Summer Internship in Information Governance & e-Discovery in Worcester, MA. This 10-week program offers hands-on exposure to legal investigations, data governance, and cross-functional teamwork, with mentorship and weekly development workshops.

You will support eDiscovery investigations, assist with data inventory mapping, and prepare a metrics report, culminating in a final presentation to management.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelors or advanced degree program.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
  • Able to commit to a full-time 10-week internship.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and assist with eDiscovery investigations and legal cases using the Case Tracking eDiscovery platform.
  • Assist with information governance processes, including terminated employee data and data inventory mapping.
  • Work with the Information Governance Senior Project Manager to prepare the quarterly metrics report for Office of the General Counsel Management.
  • Create and present a final presentation for management and leadership at the close of the internship.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:

The Hanover’s Internship Program provides college students with the opportunity to work on a variety of critical business assignments, test your skills, use your academic knowledge, and match your interests to a real job.
Through the 10-week summer program (June – mid August), You will:

  • Take on meaningful projects and work alongside some of the very best talent in the industry
  • Be supported and mentored by a community of exceptional talent (leaders, managers, subject matter experts and recent graduates)
  • Participate in a cross-functional team building project focused on corporate philanthropy
  • Attend weekly development workshops with your intern peers
  • Join in engagement and social activities with other interns

Our Office of General Counsel team is seeking exceptional college students for our Summer Internship Program, which provides meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth, as well as rewarding career path options.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL :

  • Understand and assist with eDiscovery investigations and legal cases using the Case Tracking eDiscovery platform

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred

Ability to commit to a full time 10-week internship program

Ability to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

0-2 years of professional working experience

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Critical thinking, problem solving, and quantitative skillsets

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Power BI

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus (which could take the form of a general bonus, sales incentive, or short-term incentive), long-term incentive or spot recognition awards. The posted range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
