Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group offers a 10-week Summer Internship designed for college students to engage in meaningful projects and gain hands-on legal operations experience. You will be mentored by leaders and work on cross-functional initiatives with opportunities for potential full-time employment after graduation.

During the program, you will assist with eDiscovery, information governance processes, and quarterly metrics, culminating in a final presentation to management.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or advanced degree program.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
  • Ability to commit to a full time 10-week internship program.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • 0-2 years of professional working experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, and quantitative skillsets.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and assist with eDiscovery investigations and legal cases using the Case Tracking eDiscovery platform.
  • Assist with various information governance processes, including terminated employee data, data inventory management mapping.
  • Work with the Information Governance Senior Project Manager to prepare the quarterly metrics report for Office of the General Counsel Management.
  • Create and present a final presentation for management and leadership members at the close of the internship program highlighting the work you accomplished throughout the summer.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

The Hanover’s Internship Program provides college students with the opportunity to work on a variety of critical business assignments, test your skills, use your academic knowledge, and match your interests to a real job.

Through the 10-week summer program (June – mid August), You will:

  • Attend weekly development workshops with your intern peers

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

Compensation

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus (which could take the form of a general bonus, sales incentive, or short-term incentive), long-term incentive or spot recognition awards. The posted range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
