The Hanover Insurance Group is offering a 10-week Summer Internship in Marketing for current college students. The role focuses on supporting corporate philanthropy initiatives, volunteering programs, and cross-functional teamwork while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic insurance environment.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a bachelor’s program with a 3.0+ GPA, ready for full-time commitment, and capable of working in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or advanced degree program.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
  • Ability to commit to a full-time 10-week internship in the summer.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, organize and support efforts to represent Hanover Insurance positively inside and outside the organization.
  • Assist programs that promote goodwill and corporate citizenship; foster external/internal relationships.
  • Support Hanover Insurance Group Foundation programs.
  • Contribute to lead volunteering efforts (e.g., United Way, employee outings).
  • Oversee recruiting, training, and scheduling of volunteers for external organizations or internal programs.
  • Participate in project work including planning, requirements gathering, workflow documentation, data analysis, and presenting recommendations.
  • Create and present a final management briefing at the end of the internship.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:

The Hanover’s Internship Program provides college students with the opportunity to work on a variety of critical business assignments, test your skills, use your academic knowledge, and match your interests to a real job. Through the 10-week summer program (June – mid August), You will:

  • Take on meaningful projects and work alongside some of the very best talent in the industry
  • Be supported and mentored by a community of exceptional talent (leaders, managers, subject matter experts and recent graduates)
  • Participate in a cross-functional team building project focused on corporate philanthropy
  • Attend weekly development workshops with your intern peers
  • Join in engagement and social activities with other interns

Our Marketing team is seeking exceptional college students for our Summer Internship Program, which provides meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth, as well as rewarding career path options.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
  • Coordinate, organize and support efforts to represent Hanover Insurance favorably within and outside of the organization
  • Support and/or plans programs that promote goodwill/good corporate citizenship and fosters relationships with external community leaders and internal stakeholders
  • Support the programs of the Hanover Insurance Group Foundation
  • Support and plays a role in leading employee/community programs (e.g. United Way, Employee outings etc.)
  • Oversee the recruiting, training, and scheduling of volunteers to meet the needs of outside organizations/agencies or inside employee-related programs or events.
  • Participate in project work that may include but is not limited to planning, requirements gathering, workflow documentation, process efficiency assessment, data analysis, research, presentation of recommendations, or implementation
  • Create and present a final presentation for management and leadership members at the close of the internship program highlighting the work you accomplished throughout the summer.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelors degree or advanced degree program
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
  • Ability to commit to a full time 10 week internship program
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
  • Ability to collaborate with peers to ensure processes are efficient
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking/problem solving skills and analytical mindset
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills.

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus (which could take the form of a general bonus, sales incentive, or short-term incentive), long-term incentive or spot recognition awards.
