Job summary

NOVEC is seeking candidates for full-time and part-time paid engineering internships for summer 2027. The position will be on-site in Gainesville, VA.

Qualifications include pursuing an ABET-accredited BS in engineering, completion of Circuits II and Physics II, and a valid driver’s license. Qualifications

• Completion of Circuits II and Physics II courses.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in engineering or graduate degree in an ABET accredited program with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or after.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving history.
• Power Systems Analysis is a plus.
• Electromagnetics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Examine trends, events and adverse conditions on NOVEC's electric system.
• Perform routine calculations and studies under the direction of an engineer or designer.
• Perform field visits and verify existing conditions/status.
• Develop and review material standards.
• Complete engineering economics based reviews of designs and standards.
• Other duties/projects as assigned.
