Job summary

Cognitioworld in San Diego hires a Civil Engineering intern to work alongside senior engineers on plans, take-offs, modeling, and progress reporting. You will contribute to drawings, calculations, and cost estimates under supervision while applying codes and standards in deliverables.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a Civil Engineering program (BS preferred) with strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in teams.

Qualifications

• Currently in 3rd or 4th year of an accredited Civil Engineering program; BS degree preferred.
• Experience with MS Word, Excel; familiarity with engineering software adds value.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Assist in production of engineering drawings, calculations, and cost estimates under close supervision of senior engineers
• Apply proper codes and standards in engineering deliverables
• Attend site visits or inspections

About You

The company is looking for:

• Current 3rd or 4th year undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited Civil Engineering program; BS degree preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and engineering software such as SAP2000, CSI Bridge preferred
• AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience preferred
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
