The DDD intern will participate in projects to assist the Division of Developmental Disabilities teams that manages two Medicaid Waivers. Responsibilities may include assisting with administrative duties in managing waivers or quality assurance to ensure providers are adhering to federal HCBS Rules and Administrative Rules of South Dakota. Some duties may include assisting in determining eligibility, authorizations, file reviews and providing technical assistance. Other duties may involve administrative tasks or other tasks as needed.
Course work in sociology, human services, nursing or related field may be beneficial, but not required.
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
