Job summary

Hemophilia of Georgia invites a Graduate Health Policy Intern to join our Advocacy team in Sandy Springs, GA. This part-time, non-exempt hybrid internship offers hands-on experience tracking federal and state legislation, analyzing public health data, and supporting policy communications.

Responsibilities include monitoring hearings, preparing summaries, drafting briefs, and assisting in advocacy events while gaining experience in nonprofit health policy work.

Qualifications

• Strong data and analytics skills, with high-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
• Ability to research, analyze, and synthesize health policy and legislative data.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact and diplomacy.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Track and monitor health policy developments at both the federal and state levels, including legislation, hearings, and executive orders.
• Collect, analyze, and report on public health data relevant to HoG’s mission and policy priorities.
• Attend and monitor congressional and state legislative meetings/hearings and provide summaries for staff.
• Assist with drafting communications related to health policy updates for internal and external stakeholders.
• Attend advocacy events as needed and assist in planning and implementation of advocacy events.

Position: Intern Data Evaluation– Health Policy Status: Part-time, Non-Exempt

• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work productively, effectively, and efficiently with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.

HoG offers a unique opportunity for graduate-level students interested in health policy, advocacy, and public health data analysis. The Health Policy & Data Evaluation Intern will play a critical role in supporting HoG’s advocacy work by tracking federal and state legislation, monitoring congressional and state-level hearings, analyzing executive orders, and evaluating public health data to inform organizational priorities. This internship provides hands‑on experience at the intersection of policy and public health, offering the chance to contribute to meaningful advocacy that impacts individuals and families living with bleeding disorders. Interns will gain valuable skills in data analysis, legislative monitoring, and policy communication while working alongside experienced health policy professionals at a nationally recognized nonprofit.

Qualifications:

• Graduate student preferred (health policy, public policy, public health, or health administration)

Essential Functions:

• Track and monitor health policy developments at both the federal and state levels, including legislation, hearings, and executive orders.
• Collect, analyze, and report on public health data relevant to HoG’s mission and policy Priorities.
• Attend and monitor congressional and state legislative meetings/hearings (in-person or virtually) and provide summaries for staff.
• Support preparation of policy briefs, data reports, and advocacy materials.
• Maintain policy and legislative tracking databases.
• Assist with drafting communications related to health policy updates for internal and external stakeholders.
• Attend advocacy events as needed. May include some evenings and weekends.
• Assist in planning and implementation of advocacy events.

Additional Responsibilities:
