Job summary

Commerce Bank in the United States is offering an internship for a data analyst to work with senior data analysts, developing reporting, dashboards, data analysis, and queries using databases and reporting software. The intern will assist with special projects within the Data Management team.

The 11-week summer session runs May 18, 2027 to July 30, 2027, and is paid, full‑time with a Monday–Friday schedule. Hybrid schedule: in-office 2 days/week, mostly remote.

Compensation Range

Hourly: $22.00 - $22.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

This intern will gain invaluable experience as a data analyst working with best-in-class data analysts in the banking business. Duties of this position include the development of reporting, dashboards, data analysis, and queries utilizing databases and reporting software. The intern also assists with other special projects within the Data Management team. The summer internship session will begin on Tuesday, May 18, 2027, and will run for 11 weeks, ending on Friday, July 30, 2027. Internships are paid, full-time opportunities with a Monday through Friday work schedule.

Essential Functions

Write efficient data queries to varied types of products and customer analysis. Develop dashboards and analysis to support consumer lines of business requests. Compile data analysis and reporting for data analysts. Present data analysis summary results to team members and business line leadership. Perform other duties as assigned.

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Mostly Remote

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Motivated to learn and apply data analysis concepts in real-world use cases. Organized; self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Education & Experience

Prefer a sophomore/junior with an Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related major. PC Skills include Microsoft Office with basic proficiency in Excel. Basic understanding of SQL is strongly preferred. Exposure to Python, Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, or data engineering concepts is a plus.
