Job summary

Commerce Bank is offering a paid data analyst internship in Kansas City. You will work with best-in-class data analysts on reporting, dashboards, data analysis, and queries, gaining real-world banking experience during an 11-week summer program.

The role runs May 18, 2027 to July 30, 2027, with Monday–Friday hours, mostly remote and in-office collaboration. Sophomore/junior students in IS/CS/Data Analytics are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a sophomore or junior level in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related major.
• Basic understanding of SQL is strongly preferred.
• Exposure to Python, Power BI, Tableau, or data engineering concepts is a plus.

Compensation Range

Hourly: $22.00 - $22.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

This intern will gain invaluable experience as a data analyst working with best-in-class data analysts in the banking business. Duties of this position include the development of reporting, dashboards, data analysis, and queries utilizing databases and reporting software. The intern also assists with other special projects within the Data Management team.

The summer internship session will begin on Tuesday, May 18, 2027 , and will run for 11 weeks , ending on Friday, July 30, 2027 . Internships are paid, full-time opportunities with a Monday through Friday work schedule.

Essential Functions

• Write efficient data queries to varied types of products and customer analysis.
• Develop dashboards and analysis to support consumer lines of business requests.
• Compile data analysis and reporting for data analysts.
• Present data analysis summary results to team members and business line leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

• Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Education & Experience

• Prefer a sophomore/junior with an Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related major.
• PC Skills include Microsoft Office with basic proficiency in Excel.
• Basic understanding of SQL is strongly preferred.
• Exposure to Python, Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, or data engineering concepts is a plus.
