Commerce Bank in Kansas City, MO is offering a paid data analytics internship that gives hands-on experience with reporting, dashboards, and data queries. You’ll work with a team of experienced data analysts on real banking projects, developing insights and supporting various lines of business.

The program runs 11 weeks from May 18, 2027, Monday–Friday, mostly remote with in-office days. Eligible students pursuing IS/CS/Data Analytics degrees are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Motivated to learn and apply data analysis concepts in real-world use cases.
• Exposure to Python, Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, or data engineering concepts is a plus.
• Prefer a sophomore/junior with an Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related major.

Compensation Range

Hourly: $22.00 - $22.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

This intern will gain invaluable experience as a data analyst working with best‑in‑class data analysts in the banking business. Duties of this position include the development of reporting, dashboards, data analysis, and queries utilizing databases and reporting software. The intern also assists with other special projects within the Data Management team.

The summer internship session will begin on Tuesday, May 18, 2027, and will run for 11 weeks, ending on Friday, July 30, 2027. Internships are paid, full‑time opportunities with a Monday through Friday work schedule.

Essential Functions

• Write efficient data queries to varied types of products and customer analysis.
• Develop dashboards and analysis to support consumer lines of business requests.
• Compile data analysis and reporting for data analysts.
• Present data analysis summary results to team members and business line leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

• Monday‑Friday, 8:00am‑5:00pm
• Mostly Remote

• Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Education & Experience

• Prefer a sophomore/junior with an Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related major.
• PC Skills include Microsoft Office with basic proficiency in Excel.
• Basic understanding of SQL is strongly preferred.
• Exposure to Python, Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, or data engineering concepts is a plus.
• Hybrid Schedule: In office 2 days per week

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $22.00 per hour.
