Job summary

The Commerce Bank Audit Intern role offers hands-on audit experience within a collaborative team. You’ll learn auditing techniques from seasoned professionals and test controls across diverse projects, while engaging with senior management and the Commerce culture.

Based in Kansas City, you’ll gain exposure to IT, Cybersecurity, and Data Analytics within the Audit Department, in a paid, full-time summer internship running 11 weeks from May 18, 2027 to July 30, 2027.

Compensation Range

Hourly: $20.00 - $20.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

The Commerce Bank Audit Intern will gain valuable on the job audit experience working with a strong and effective audit team in a collaborative environment. The intern will learn auditing techniques from experienced auditors and perform testing across a variety of projects and audits. The intern will provide assurance on the effectiveness of control processes and make suggestions to improve operational efficiencies. The intern will interact with senior management across the Bank while becoming engrained in the Commerce culture. The intern will get exposed to Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Data Analysis processes within the bank and utilized by the Audit Department. The summer internship session will begin on Tuesday, May 18, 2027, and will run for 11 weeks, ending on Friday, July 30, 2027. Internships are paid, full-time opportunities with a Monday through Friday work schedule.

Essential Functions

• Primarily work with the IT Audit team and SOX testing teams
• Rotate and gain experience with the audit teams at Commerce, including Financial/Operational Audit, Compliance Audit, Branch Audit, and Data Analytics
• Work with audit team members to analyze and evaluate controls, processes, and procedures
• Perform independent testing within a variety of internal audits as assigned by the audit in-charge
• Interact with business line personnel and management
• Assist with special projects
• Perform other duties as assigned

Work Schedule

• Monday-Friday
• Flexible hours
• Hybrid schedule of both in office and work from home
• Days in office can be determined at hiring

Education & Experience

• Undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems or related field.
• Hybrid Schedule: In office 3 days per week

This compensation range is for the Intern job. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $20.00 per hour.
