Job summary

HNTB in Chicago, IL is seeking a student enrolled in a construction services program to assist our department with basic office and field support in a part-time, temporary, or co-op capacity. The role provides exposure to project teams and on-site materials testing.

You will learn to review drawings, track deliverables, attend meetings, and help ensure procedures align with plans and specifications. Visa sponsorship not available; relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent plus current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary construction services program
• Completion of 2 years of post-secondary construction services program

Responsibilities

• Assists with construction office support tasks including but not limited to: taking meeting minutes, assisting in processing of tracking logs, and other department deliverables.
• Attends and observes meetings with both internal and external teams of a project.
• Observes on-site material testing. May assist with basic shop drawing review and help ensure that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications.
• Conducts basic research and data collection.
• Reads construction drawings and materials and provides feedback as requested.
• Assists on portions of special projects as directed.

Pay Range

The approximate pay range for Illinois is $23.18 - $34.76. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position based on all selected locations within the state at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
