Hussmann is seeking a Communications Intern for its 2027 Summer Internship Program in Missouri. The role focuses on supporting internal communications, crafting content for newsletters, and assisting leadership engagement.

You will gain hands-on experience in storytelling, video creation, and event support while networking with senior leaders and fellow interns. This paid internship runs May–August, with relocation if needed.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in school pursuing a minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and team effectiveness skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication, as well as creativity
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and attention to detail
  • Ability to relocate, if not local

Responsibilities

  • Support the Communications team in executing communication plans and drafting content for key company programs
  • Draft short articles and feature stories for the weekly companywide e-newsletter
  • Support town hall quarterly meetings
  • Create videos and capture photos that represent our culture
  • Provide fresh ideas and new perspectives to our Communications team
  • Network with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization
  • Tour Hussmann's manufacturing facility, Global Hub, and R&D Lab
  • Participate in community stewardship outreach and team building events
  • Compete in the Ideation & Innovation Challenge

As a Communications Intern in the 2027 Hussmann Summer Internship Program

As a Communications Intern in the 2027 Hussmann Summer Internship Program, you will gain experience and insight into the life of a communications professional. You will support Hussmann’s overall culture and employee engagement through the development and implementation of internal communication projects, plans, and programs that connect employees and leadership to each other.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Communications team in executing communication plans and drafting content for key company programs, including storytelling to bring Hussmann’s mission, vision, and Behaviors for Success to life
  • Draft short articles and feature stories for the weekly companywide e-newsletter.
  • Support town hall quarterly meetings
  • Create videos and capture photos that represent our culture
  • Provide fresh ideas and new perspectives to our Communications team
  • Network with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization
  • Tour Hussmann's 1.6 million square foot manufacturing facility, our Global Hub for hosting customers, and the R&D Lab where we test product quality
  • Participate in community stewardship outreach, career development events, and other team-building offsite events
  • Compete in the annual Ideation & Innovation Challenge
Ideation & Innovation Challenge

Throughout the twelve-week program, all Hussmann interns will divide into cross-functional teams and compete with one another for the Hussmann Ideation & Innovation Challenge. Working with Hussmann mentors and leaders, you and your team will identify a solution to a provided problem statement. At the end of the summer, you’ll present your team’s business proposal to a panel of judges, executive leaders, and the organization – and possibly create a roadmap for Hussmann’s next great innovation.

The summer internship will run from the third week of May through the first week of August. These dates may be changed to meet the needs of the student.
